Pakistan team Move to the next round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers |
Earlier today, Pakistan made history in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers by securing its first victory, defeating Cambodia 1-0. Harun Hamid scored the historic goal in the 67th minute of the match.
In the initial match between the two teams in Cambodia, no goals were scored. Unfortunately, star forward Otis Khan couldn't participate in the second leg due to FIFA clearance issues. He was deemed ineligible, despite holding a Pakistani passport, and was also excluded from the first leg by FIFA.
It's worth mentioning that Otis Khan made his debut for Pakistan in a friendly match against Mauritius last June. His eligibility was confirmed through his paternal grandfather, Kanwar Jamil Mohammed Khan, who originally hailed from Delhi, migrated to Pakistan after the partition in 1947, and eventually settled in Manchester.
Additionally, it's important to note that the last FIFA/AFC World Cup Qualifier held in Pakistan was in 2011 at the Punjab Stadium, where Bangladesh was the participating team.
