The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has implemented a ban on surrogate advertising, prohibiting teams from promoting products or services resembling the league's sponsors. This practice emerged in Pakistani cricket as foreign companies rebranded to establish a presence.

The decision will be communicated to the government during the Lahore Governing Council meeting, where discussions on the venue and dates for the next year's event will take place. The media extensively covered the news, but no official notices have been issued.

The move follows a government prohibition on surrogate advertising, with further deliberation needed, as stated by the PCB spokesperson.

The PSL Governing Council meeting will address the issue, instructing franchise teams to comply with government directives, and certain teams have already removed surrogate company logos from social media.

The suggested PSL dates are February 8 to March 24, with considerations for hosting in the UAE due to general elections on February 8. The meeting will also cover player drafts and media rights discussions.
