Higher Education Commession Finally Gets a Permanent Executive Director After Over 5 Years.

Professor Dr. Zia-ul-Qayyum, a renowned education expert and former Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat University and Allama Iqbal Open University, has been officially appointed as the permanent Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission. 

Selected from a pool of 18 candidates, Dr. Zia-ul-Qayyum emerged as the top choice with 72 points, marking him as the most qualified candidate for the position. 

The decision comes after a thorough evaluation by a search committee, which included key figures in education and administration. 

The HEC Board, under the leadership of Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, has approved Dr. Zia-ul-Qayyum's appointment, bringing a formal conclusion to the interim tenure of the position that had been in place since October 2018. 

The educational community expresses optimism about the anticipated progress under the guidance of Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and the newly appointed Executive Director.
