The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established specialized teams of senior tax officials to streamline Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL), aiming to reduce excessive staffing and curb unnecessary expenses.

To facilitate this, the FBR has released an official notification outlining the formation of sub-groups responsible for the restructuring and revitalization of PRAL. These sub-groups, composed of FBR officers, will propose strategies to enhance PRAL's efficiency.

Two sub-groups have been created for this purpose: Sub-group I will focus on evaluating PRAL's workforce, analyzing their skills, roles, and responsibilities, and recommending adjustments to achieve optimal staffing levels. Sub-group II will concentrate on restructuring PRAL's expenditures, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals, and identifying unnecessary costs.

Additionally, both sub-groups will assess the appropriateness of current employee pay structures and recommend modifications to the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for the current and previous financial years between PRAL and FBR.

All recommendations from these sub-groups are expected to be submitted to the office of Chairman FBR within 15 days of the issuance of this notification.
