JS Bank Supports the Global Pinktober Campaign, Spreading Awareness on Breast Cancer. |
JS Bank reaffirmed its dedication to social responsibility by actively participating in Global Pinktober Month, a campaign aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer and the crucial importance of early detection.
Throughout the month, the bank organized various awareness activities to educate both internal and external audiences about breast cancer, its risk factors, and the significance of early diagnosis. Basir Shamsie, President & CEO of JS Bank, emphasized their community spirit, stating, "We're not just a bank; we're a community. And in our community, we look out for each other."
The awareness campaign included interactive sessions for JS Bank's employees led by Dr. Zubaida Qazi, Founder & President of Pink Pakistan Trust, held at the Jahangir Siddiqui auditorium at IBA, Karachi. These sessions highlighted the life-threatening nature of breast cancer and stressed the importance of regular self-examinations and clinical screenings, offering survivors a platform to share their stories of strength and resilience.
JS Bank's teams also demonstrated solidarity with cancer patients by visiting hospitals in Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi. Collaborations with healthcare institutions such as Mumtaz Hospital and Dr. Ziauddin Hospital enabled free screenings, consultations, and awareness sessions to help staff recognize early signs of breast cancer.
Recognizing breast cancer as a global issue affecting women regardless of race, age, or nationality, JS Bank's involvement in Pinktober aimed to empower individuals to prioritize their health and spread the message of early detection. More than just a corporate social responsibility initiative, Pinktober served as a call to action, reminding everyone of their role in creating a better future and making a real difference in the lives of those impacted by the disease.
