| Bill Gates Foundation Supports Pakistan's Adoption of Next-Gen Digital Payments. |
Mark Suzman, CEO of the Global Growth & Opportunity Division at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, met with Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, the Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs, during the WB/IMF annual meeting.
The discussion focused on Pakistan's Digital Stack, the next generation of Raast-supported Digital Public Infrastructure, with BMG Foundation's assistance.
Following the meeting, an MoU was signed between the Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan, and BMGF, reinforcing the Foundation's support for this digital project after the success of Raast – Pakistan Instant Payment System.
The implementation of the Digital Pakistan Stack will be overseen by the National Financial Inclusion Council, chaired by the Finance Minister, a significant stride toward promoting inclusive economic growth in Pakistan.
